Background of the project:
LECORVAW is seeking a senior trainer to prepare, conduct and evaluate a workshop targeting junior lawyers and law students about the international law and the Personal status law. The WAJ Project – Phase II, implemented by Oxfam GB and 6 NGOs partners in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Yemen and funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Women’s Access to Justice in the MENA region project Phase 2 is a 3 year project designed to build the women and vulnerable women to claim their rights using formal and informal justice providers.
Purpose of the job:
Develop and deliver a four-day Training to a group of 50 persons representing Law students and junior lawyers. The participants will be provided with knowledge on women’s rights in International Law and in Personal Status Law.
Key Tasks:
Develop the content of the training and teaching aids (including agenda, working methods and procedures, handouts and evaluation forms) which will be discussed with the Project Team;
- Develop the list of equipment and materials which is necessary for carrying out training sessions.
- Provide the targeted group with trainings concerning: International laws. Women’s right, PSL, most important international convention related to women’s right and international laws that are signed by Lebanon including CEDAW.
- Advise on background and supporting materials to be distributed.
- Deliver the 4 days training.
- Elaborate and submit a final report on the training
- Provide a soft and hard copy with all content material used.
Key Deliverables: (add section with expected key deliverables and timeline)
Final Report: After the delivery of the training, the contractor shall submit to the Project Manager the electronic version of the Report. The Report shall include the followings:
Concise presentation of the training sessions content and of applied methods, including the most important, attractive ideas of participants on the discussed subjects;
Conclusions and recommendations based on lessons learned for future interventions; ·
Training programme evaluation forms filled in by participants;
Other relevant materials.
Fees and Expenses (You must indicate the fees).
The agreed fee for the services under this agreement shall be up to a total of US Dollars ............
Job requirements:
- A degree in Law or in political Science or relate field
- Preferred holding a Master’s degree
- Experience in providing training related to laws for more than five years
- Experience in providing training in international law or more than three years
- Have high interest in issues related to women’s right and to women access to justice
- Knowledge in the most important conventions and specially CEDAW
- Have great communication skills and presentation skills
- Significant training experience and facilitation skills.
- Flexibility in working with different age groups and different genders
- Able to provide training in both Arabic and English
