Gender Consultant

BRIEF OF PROJECT   World Vision in Lebanon aims to develop a program for a youth group aged 18-25 in Akkar Dreib Area that addresses through a series of sessions (between 8 to 12 sessions) on issues relating to gender roles and norms, masculinities and femininities and their impact on the role of male and female youths, reaching to discussions over relationships, family roles, conflict resolution and violence against women.   DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES   Action Description  Roles Timeline  Development of the assessment tools  Develop FGD guiding questions to assess the interests, challenges, perceptions and attitudes of both male and female youths that will participate in the program Consultant End of  April Conduct the preliminary assessment with young males and females 1 FGD with females 1 FGD with males 1 FGD – mixed group   To be conducted in one day Consultant to Facilitate the FGD with support from WV coordinator   Consultant  to analyze the outputs of the sessions Mid May Development of  the program  (between 8-12 sessions) based on the assessment results and specific modules validated globally   Session facilitation guide Topic/theme/tools/materials Output: facilitation guide Development: Consultant Revision:  WV May and June  Testing – facilitation of sessions Conduct a pre program assessment of knowledge, attitude and behaviors of youths Conduct the sessions with the same youth group using the facilitation manual  (Each session between 2 – 3 hrs)   Evaluate every session conducted which will feed into the development of remaining sessions and final program.   Conduct post program evaluation to detect changes and assess the effectiveness of the program at different levels.   Consultant: Facilitation     WVI – field coordination   June, July, August  Finalization of the module Review the content in light of the evaluation, outputs, recommendations, etc…    Develop Final report about the program ( outline to be agreed on with consultant)   Consultant with feedback from WV September   TIMELINE   The consultant is expected to start working on the development of the program as of Mid April and the program ends by Mid September 2015 as per specific activities and deliverables. The consultant will work as per agreed number of working days and the dates of the sessions to be facilitated in Akkar will be agreed with the consultant.   NEEDED QUALIFICATIONS   - Background in social work or any relevant field. - Previous experience in development of programs relating to gender issues   - Previous experience in facilitation of sessions with youths - Strong arabic communication skills and English writing skills
