Purpose:
The Protection Data Entry Operator carries out data processing of information on people entitled to protection under international humanitarian law using specialized case-management software.
- Place of employment: Beirut for Damascus support.
- One-year contract renewable.
Minimum required knowledge & qualification:
• Bachelor Degree.
• Very good command of English, French an asset.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of SQL or Virtual Basic programming
languages an asset).
• Responsibility and autonomy, ability to set up priorities.
• Planning, organization and assessment.
• Rigor, method and analytical skills, analysis and summarizing.
• Good communication skills.
• Good capacity to adhere and implement procedures.
• Good team worker.
Professional Experience required:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar field.
• No ICRC experience required.
Responsibilities:
• Carries out data processing, including tallies, typing, etc.; ensures that the collected data is reported as per working procedures and that the necessary documents are provided.
• Controls the data entry made by the field teams and reports errors/discrepancies/etc. to the creators of the data; keeps the data manager aware about the quality of the data entry.
• Participates in data corrections.
• Carries out basic data analysis upon request.
• Carries out simple office work such typing, filing, photocopying, etc.; creates the individual files for the new beneficiaries; pre-numbers the registration cards.
• Management of documents to archive.
• Participates in the revision and improvement of the reference documents such as workflows, data entry procedures, etc.
• May be asked to translate forms and data from the local language to English or French and vice versa.
