Training Topic: Managerial & Leadership Skills
Description: 1 training session to be conducted targeting senior managerial positions. The training session is divided over a 2 consecutive day period. The training day is expected to be composed of 8 hours (including breaks). Approximate attendees per session will vary between 15 to 20.
Indicative time period: September/October 2019
Job Purpose:
The Trainer will be in charge of training upper-level managers on managerial & leadership skills in order to be able to lead the leaders, develop and motivate their team, maximize performance, and resolve conflicts at the work place.
This position is a short term based assignment that will end when all the deliverables mentioned below are met within the timeframe set above.
Generic Duties:
The Trainer will coordinate closely with the HR Coordinator & Head of Mission in INTERSOS for organizing the training session which will be conducted for INTERSOS senior managers covering the below areas:
- Leadership
- Situational Leadership
- Team management
- Developing and motivating employees
- Providing feedback & setting SMART objectives
- Problem solving and Conflict resolution
- Time management (Prioritizing tasks)
- Communication skills (Internal and External communication)
Specific Duties:
- Meet with HR Coordinator & Head of Mission to schedule the session, prepare the training material, approach and methodology as follows:
- Train the staff within the agreed topics providing proper visuals, training materials, and organizing exercises and team activities.
- Share the tools, slides, docs with the participants.
- Ensure the pre/post tests are filled by every participant.
- Ensure the daily attendance sheet and evaluation form are filled and signed by all the participants.
- Provide a report on the training by session, no later than 2 weeks from the completion of the training sessions (success stories, challenges, lessons learned, recommendations, feedback on attendees, etc…)
- Submit recommendations necessary for the improvement of the training or the provision of the organization’s policies and procedures where needed.
- Other relevant duties as coordinated with the HR & Head of Mission.
Deliverables:
- Report on the training.
- Participants’ daily attendance sheet.
- Pre-post tests.
- Needed material for training.
- Content of final presentations
Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Professional Competencies:
- Certified Trainer.
- Experience in NGOs is a plus.
- Previously delivered trainings on management and leadership.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, power point, etc..).
- Analytical and reporting skills.
Behavioural competencies:
- Excellent Communication skills.
- High level of presentation and public speaking skills.
- Attention to details.
- Good level of planning and organizing.
