Alriaya is an association, organized on a solidarity basis; its goal is to allow all its members to have access to quality medical care. Alriaya is a non-profit society. It is not about profit, but about the well - being of all its members. It is not a commercial insurance company, therefore Alriaya does not apply risk-selection techniques used by the commercial insurance companies, like refusal to affiliate older people, obligation to undergo a medical examination at the time of affiliation, premium payment in case of specific risks, contribution based directly on the size of the family. Alriaya’ main characteristic is the solidarity of all its members. This solidarity is expressed, among other things, by the payment of a contribution, which is not a function of age or state of health at the time of affiliation or the number of the affiliate’s dependents.
