Teacher (Part-Time) - Bekaa

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and educate groups of children in grades 6 to 9,  according to  provided teaching material, using exciting methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
  • Organize educational, recreational and social activities for students
  • Ensure, promote and facilitate that the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all project activities and communication with students
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
  • Ensure strict adherence to ADRA Lebanon Child Protection Policies at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centred approach, acting in the best interests of the child
  • Show self-motivation, enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Build relationships with parents and caregivers
  • Maintain  records and prepare reports and recommendations
  • Work in close coordination with the administration, Academic Coordinator and Community Mobilizers and Psychosocial Worker
  • Provide monthly reports on the progress and effectiveness of actions made

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field
• At least 1 year of work experience teaching at elementary level
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good written and oral English skills
• Skilled at using basic computer programs
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

Preferred:
• INGO or NGO experience
• Experience working with refugee population
• Ability to write clear and concise reports in English
