Job Purpose
Support the Country Office Protocol Operations, particularly in the Port Operations, clearance of shipments and aviation cargo.
Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of Administration or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Draft letters to concerned government parties to secure entry permits to restricted areas such as Ports, Airports to facilitate WFP operations
- Draft Special Permit requests, Declaration en Douane or any other clearance formality required for WFP shipments
- Follow-up on the clearances of submitted applications with the relevant authorities for shipments or aviation cargo
- Translate directives and communiques received from the government pertaining to the current situation
- Support the logistics/port team in their official communication with the government for High level visits and meetings
- Support the Admin Officer in updating the status of assets affected by the office explosion for Country Office and Beirut Field Office
- Carry out Asset’s transactions on specialized platform as needed
- Support in identifying the number of assets requiring replacement
Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Translation and Languages is an advantage.
Experience: At least three (3) years of progressively work experience in Protocol, translation, or relevant fields.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Fluency in French is an advantage.
