RFP/LECORVAW/2025/001 - Mural Art Project

1. Background

The Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Woman (LECORVAW), is local NGO at Tripoli, looks towards a society free of all forms of violence governed by democratic relations between the family members and within the society as a whole, a society that ensures equality, justice and dignity to all its citizens where all members of this society can live equally in a democratic environment free of all forms of violence and discrimination.

2. Objective of the Assignment

The main objective of this assignment is to commission a street art artist to design and paint three murals addressing the following socially significant topics:

• Early Marriage
• Child Labor
• Domestic Violence

These murals will be created on a wall located within the Tripoli area in Lebanon, with each mural serving as an impactful visual statement to spark community discussion and encourage social change.

3. Scope of Work

The selected firm or individual artist will be responsible for:

• Designing and painting three distinct murals addressing the topics noted above.
• Each mural will be circular in shape with a diameter of 3 meters.
• The design must be culturally sensitive, resonate with the local community, and align with LECORVAW’s mission of promoting social awareness.
• Handling all preparatory work, including surface cleaning, priming, and any necessary repairs to ensure the longevity of the artwork.
• Ensuring that all work complies with local regulations and safety standards during installation.
• Coordinating with LECORVAW representatives for onsite decisions and final approvals.

4. Deliverables

The selected firm is expected to deliver the following items:

• Concept Designs: Submit initial sketches or digital renderings for each mural, clearly illustrating how each topic will be addressed, also it could be shared by LECORVAW.
• Detailed Project Plan: Including materials to be used, schedule with key milestones, risk management plan, and method of execution.
• Completed Murals: Three fully executed murals (each 3m in diameter) painted on the designated wall.

5. Required Qualifications and Experience

Interested applicants must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in public or street art, preferably with documented projects addressing social themes.
• A strong portfolio that highlights your ability to deliver impactful visual narratives in large-scale formats.
• Familiarity with mural techniques, materials, and best practices for outdoor installations.
• Capacity to work within public spaces.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with community stakeholders if needed.

6. Duration of Assignment

The overall duration of the project is expected to be two weeks ,this includes:

• Initial design phase.
• Preparation of the mural site and material procurement.
• Execution of the mural painting, ideally segmented into three phases.
• Final documentation, review, and submission of maintenance guidelines.

7. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Legal proposal (20%) 
- Technical proposal (50%)
- Financial Proposal (30%)
