The Technical Expert / Engineer will provide technical guidance and supervision for the assessment, design, and rehabilitation of waterline pipelines to ensure sustainable, efficient, and high-quality water supply services.
The Technical Expert / Engineer will:
- Conduct technical assessments of existing waterline pipelines, including condition surveys and performance analysis.
- Identify rehabilitation needs, including pipe replacement, leak repair, and system upgrades.
- Develop technical specifications, designs, and cost estimates for rehabilitation works.
- Supervise and monitor implementation of rehabilitation works, ensuring compliance with project standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support to contractors and field teams during execution.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including local authorities, communities, and contractors, for smooth project implementation.
- Prepare progress reports, technical reports, and recommendations for decision-making.
- Ensure quality control and testing of water pipelines before and after rehabilitation.
- Provide capacity-building support to local technical staff where relevant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Water Resources Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in water supply system rehabilitation.
- Proven experience in water pipeline design, construction supervision, and rehabilitation projects.
- Knowledge of water quality standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
The Technical Expert / Engineer will report to the Project Manager and work closely with other project staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
