Short Bio
I am a humanitarian and human rights specialist with 19 years of field experience across Lebanon, Iraq, Tunisia, and Zambia. Holding an MSc in Law with a focus on child protection and international humanitarian legal frameworks, I have built my career at UNHCR, UNOPS, IRC, and NRC, working across refugee, displacement, and mixed-movement contexts in both camp and urban settings.
My core expertise spans community-based protection, child protection, GBV, housing/land/property, legal documentation, and civil registration, with sustained engagement across the humanitarian-development nexus. I have managed multi-sector programmes, coordinated inter-agency processes involving 30+ partners, led teams of 22+ staff, and administered portfolios of up to USD 2 million. My legal background — grounded in five years of litigation practice and justice-sector engagement in Lebanon, Iraq, Tunisia, and Zambia — reinforces a rights-based approach across all functions.
Throughout my career, I have produced policy-relevant analysis, strategic briefs, and operational guidance used by senior UN leadership for programme and positioning decisions. I am proficient in data and information management tools including KoBo, Power BI, and Microsoft 365, and have consistently delivered results in complex, access-constrained, and politically sensitive environments.
Experience with the Civil Society
My entire 19-year career has been anchored in civil society engagement. Across Lebanon, Iraq, Tunisia, and Zambia, every role I have held — from local NGO coordination to UN field operations — was built through direct partnership with civil society actors. During my experience in Lebanon, I coordinated with local NGOs, community-based organizations, and advocacy groups to deliver protection programming and resolve access barriers. At IRC and NRC, I engaged Bar Association members, legal aid organizations, and community centers as operational partners. In Tunisia, I chaired inter-agency coordination processes involving 30+ NGO and civil society partners, structuring referral pathways and joint accountability mechanisms. In Zambia, I worked with refugee leadership structures, community groups, and local organizations to sustain community-based protection delivery and accountability systems in Meheba Settlement.
