About

forumZFD Lebanon (Forum Civil Peace Service) is a German nonprofit organization working together with local partners to foster conflict transformation and sustainable peace while advocating for more just societies.  Based in Beirut since 2009, our 16 staff members are working with local partners in projects aiming to reduce tensions within four different areas/themes: Dealing with the Past, Capacity Development, Community Mobilizing and Nonviolent Communication.

Founded in 1996 as a response to the wars in the former Yugoslavia, forumZFD was developed by peace and human rights groups who wanted to challenge wars by offering a peaceful alternative to military action. Currently, our peace consultants operate in 13 countries across Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia by supporting communities affected by violent conflicts on their path to peace. We finance our work through public and private grants, donations and membership fees.
