Responsibilities
- Supervise Embrace Lifeline operators during allocated time to provide constructive feedback in order to improve knowledge and skills and ensure operator wellbeing
- Provide emotional support for operators
- Implement supervisory forms including debriefing and conducting meetings (individual and group) with operators
- Collaborate with operators and intervene during difficult, high risk and imminent risk calls
- Remain on call for a number of days per need to be agreed upon to debrief operators, and assess competence, burn out and compassion fatigue
- Ensure and oversee appropriate documentation in line with the policies and procedures of the Embrace Lifeline
- Participate in the performance evaluation for operators
- Assume responsibility in ensuring high quality of care and service
- Work closely with lifeline manager, other lifeline supervisors and social worker
- Participate in the interviewing, selection of new operators applying to the Embrace Lifeline
- Make recommendations to the lifeline manager on initiatives related to capacity building and improving quality and workflow and support their implementation
- Attend weekly meetings with Embrace Lifeline chief operators, supervisor(s) and manager
- Documentation and archiving of supervision notes during supervision meetings
- Responsibilities and roles may expand to other projects related to lifeline operations
- Conducting training sessions on suicide prevention as needed per month (not to exceed 7 hours per month)
Qualifications
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to handle emotionally taxing cases without being impacted
- Present proficient skills in positive reinforcement and constructive feedback
- Demonstrates ability to problem-solve independently and efficiently
- Cultural sensitivity
- Ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles with regard to work with vul-nerable populations
- Experience providing clinical supervision or leading trainings
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while providing services to beneficiaries or working with internal support staff
