The Executive Director is responsible for the following:
- Oversees the day to day execution of all organization programming;
- Coordinates the development and implementation of all organization departments and programs and monitors their individual and collective progress;
- Provides moral support, technical assistance, and administrative support to the organization’s staff when needed;
- Ensures all project deliverables meet deadlines and are of the highest quality;
- Works with donors and staff on all programming requirements and policies and ensures compliance;
- Represents the organization with all external stakeholders including current and potential donors, government agencies, international and non-governmental organizations, national and international forums, and the media;
- Coordinates with the board to choose adequate members to represent Helem in external conferences, trainings and workshops.
- Manages the hiring and management of the staff in consultation with the Board;
- Coordinates with the organization’s staff to ensure that policies and procedures are developed, clearly communicated, , and respected ;
- Produces and reviews all financial and programming reports and presentations, provides complete and accurate information to the Board and external stakeholders;
- Maintains the integrity of Helem’s vision, mission, values and goals;
- Produces and oversees all program development and proposal writing activities based on the organization’s strategic plan;
- Initiates and coordinates all fundraising efforts and prepares all budget and financial plans with the staff and Board;
- Approves expenditures within the parameters set forth by the board or funds budget line.
- Ensures all financial and accounting procedures are carried out with maximum accuracy and transparency;
- Administers the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitors the monthly cash flow of the organization;
- Ensures that the organization complies with all legislation covering taxation and withholding payments
- Ensures all Helem means of communications are up to date ( Social media, press releases, website...etc)
Qualifications
- 2-3 years work experience with managing and developing non-profit organizations;
- Experience with and prior knowledge of issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity;
- Fluency in both English and Arabic, French is preferable;
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Prior knowledge of project management, financial planning, human resources and monitoring and evaluation;
- Computer literacy and the ability to work with MS programs;
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Bachelor degree in Administration, Management, or a related field;
