The Sudan crisis has triggered the largest displacement and protection emergency in the world today. On 4 September 2025, heavy rain and floods across Tawkar town of Tawkar locality in Red Sea displaced approximately 24 households. The flooding reportedly occurred due to rising water levels of Baraka creek. Displaced households reportedly sought shelter in open areas within the same locality.
